Manchester United set to win race for £70m rated Premier League star

Manchester United look to have targeted a midfielder in the Premier League and they could soon win the race for his services.
For years Manchester United were the team to beat. Old Trafford was the fortress one never wanted to venture to because it would always be met with defeat. Year after year the Red Devils won trophy after trophy and they had an absolute hegemony in England under the legendary stewardship of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Now the Red Devils’ armada seems to have been depleted. Their fortress Old Trafford is no longer as feared and the dominion of their rivals in Liverpool and Manchester City has risen. It is now Manchester United who linger in the shadows and fight desperately to return back to the top.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the man who leads United’s charge in that quest and the Norwegian boss has made some promising signs and won some key battles as Manchester United manager in his first year at the club.
The January transfer window will herald a pivotal moment for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It will be the perfect opportunity for the Norwegian to bring some much needed recruits to Old Trafford.
The club have been linked with Declan Rice of West Ham in the past. The Daily Mirror via the Daily Mail reported that Manchester United ‘could make a move’ for Declan Rice in the January transfer window.
The England international who snubbed Ireland is one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League right now and he is without a shadow of a doubt West Ham’s most prized possession.
With United’s Scott McTominay injured and Nemanja Matic rumoured to be exiting Old Trafford in January, the club will be in need of a holding midfielder and the Daily Mirrors’ rumour may just ring true as United are potentially likely to make a move in order to replace their injured and departing player.
The tough tackling Declan Rice would be the perfect addition. For decades United have lacked that grit in their midfield which was often given by club legend Roy Keane. Rice is in the same mould and he will surely increase United’s toughness in middle of the park.
What do you think would Declan Rice be a good signing for Manchester United?
