Manchester United’s Forwards:

Striker: Robin Van Persie

What a signing. What a steal. What a bargain. Robin Van Persie was undoubtedly the steal of the century for Manchester United.

The Dutchman was brought in from rivals Arsenal after scoring 30 goals in the Premier League in a bid by Sir Alex Ferguson to help United win the league title once more. Van Persie managed 26 goals in his first season at Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson’s move had paid off as the Dutchman lifted the Premier League title.

He spent another two seasons at the club scoring over double figures and he will forever be remembered for his time at Old Trafford and as the crucial part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s last hooray.

Striker: Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney is Mr Manchester United plain and simple. He was undoubtedly one of the club’s best players in this decade and he established himself a true hero of the club.

Rooney’s best individual season came in the 2011/12 season when United missed out dramatically on the Premier League title however Rooney managed to score 34 goals in all competitions that season.

Rooney’s skill and brilliance often came out on trumps. He arguably scored one of the best goals of the Premier League era in this decade with an audacious bicycle kick against Manchester City in the derby.

All together he left the club with an incredible 253 goals and as a true legend in 2017. There is no question who leads the line for United in this line-up.

Striker: Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford’s presence may seem like an odd choice at first glance. After all the England international is still just 22 years of age. Yet for the last five seasons he has been a crucial and valuable member of the Manchester United squad and it is for that reason that Rashford makes the cut in the front three.

Marcus Rashford has already racked up almost 200 appearances for the side in this decade and has scored an impressive 60 goals in return.

His pace, his vision and his eye for goal makes him Manchester United’s biggest threat at the moment and he has the potential to become a future club legend.

With every year Rashford gets better and better and it is expected that the 2020s will be an even more fruitful decade for the England international.
