Manchester United: Solskjaer set to miss out on Serie A target
By Bence Bocsak
The Manchester United boss may have already been dealt an early blow for January as he is expected to miss out on one of his targets from Serie A.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a desperate man on a desperate mission. The current Manchester United boss and former player has been tormented by seeing the club’s arch rivals Liverpool and Manchester City dominate the Red Devils and leave them behind in the dirt. Solskjaer is desperate to get back at the club’s rivals. He is desperate to strengthen United and to help the club rise from the ashes of Sir Alex Ferguson’s looming ominous shadow.
For many years now Old Trafford has been without that long coveted Premier League title and now disastrously Liverpool could be on the brink of bringing the trophy back to Anfield. That should be the final straw for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and as a Manchester United legend he knows enough is enough.
United have to end this calamity.
And for that United need some reinforcements. Players who are fit to wear the Red Devils’ jersey and players who understand the club’s ethos and the way United like to play.
Dejan Kulusevski would have been an ideal candidate for that shirt. The 19 year old Swedish international has been hugely impressive in Serie A this season scoring 4 goals and giving out 7 assists on loan at Parma from Atalanta. According to the Daily Mirror via the Daily Mail his good run of form had already attracted the interests of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who very much liked what he saw.
Dejan Kulusevski is an energetic midfielder with pace to burn and excellent deliveries he is exactly the type of player United need on the flanks of their midfield.
However whilst Dejan Kulusevski may indeed be the perfect candidate and the ideal fit for United. Unfortunately some things in life are just not meant to be and the Swede joining Manchester United may just be one of them. According to Italian outlet Gazzeta Dello Sport Dejan Kulusevski is in fact edging closer and closer to a move to Inter Milan and an agreement between Inter and Atalanta could be imminent.
That will come as a bitter pill to swallow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Norwegian will now have to target another player in order to bring the right reinforcements to Old Trafford.
What do you think will Manchester United regret missing out on Dejan Kulusevski?
