The Manchester United boss has identified a potential recruit who has been compared to his former United teammate, David Beckham.

Legends are hard to come by. They are a rare breed and they are created by frequent moments of greatness and unique skill. Their talent is so immense they are often lauded as otherworldly and worshipped by their supporters even years after their departure from the club or retirement. David Beckham at Manchester United was one of those iconic players who will forever be synonymous with a legendary status.

Beckham made his name with the Red Devils under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson before departing for Real Madrid and becoming a key player for the Galacticos.

And whilst United have had some tremendous players player for the club since then, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, there is still a yearning for a player of David Beckham’s ilk to return to Old Trafford.

Beckham’s crosses and distribution were legendary. It was one of a kind and it played a crucial part in the Manchester United system at the time.

Almost twenty years after his departure from the club, it seems Manchester United may have found the perfect replacement for David Beckham.

That man is Aston Villa attacker Jack Grealish who has been on incredible form in the Premier League this season and he is a player Manchester United have been keeping ‘tabs on’ according to the Daily Mirror.

It is no surprise why, Jack Grealish oozes quality and often he demonstrates flashes of skill and movement which is reminiscent of David Beckham in his prime at United. Some of the goals Jack Grealish has scored this season have been out of this world and could have easily have been scored by Beckham himself. Playing in a better team under Solskjaer could only bring out more of his quality.

Now, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have been given a huge boost in his pursuit with the Daily Mail via the Daily Mirror claiming that Aston Villa may be ‘forced’ to sell Jack Grealish due to FFP regulations.

Therefore it seems Jack Grealish is edging closer and closer to a move to Old Trafford and United may at last have a true heir to David Beckham’s throne.
