Manchester United: Solskjaer targeting Real Madrid star man

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be on the brink of bringing the out of favour Real Madrid man to Manchester United in January.

Real Madrid have often used Manchester United as a feeder club in the past bringing in the Red Devils’ best players in order to bolster their own squad. From the likes of David Beckham, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo and Javier Hernandez the Galacticos have been renowned for taking the best talent away from Old Trafford.

With Paul Pogba heavily linked to Real Madrid it seems that misery could continue for Manchester United. However Ole Gunnar Solskjaer himself may also be on the brink of taking a player from Real Madrid in January.

It is no secret the Norwegian boss has been desperate to bring his own players to Manchester United and help bolster his squad in a bid to get the Red Devils back to where they belong.

With that mission in mind it seems Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified one of Real Madrid’s out of favour players to bring to Old Trafford. That player in question is Luka Jovic. According to the Daily Express Manchester United are ‘interested’ in signing the Serbian international.

Luka Jovic had enjoyed a spectacular spell whilst playing for Eintracht Frankfurt last season in the Bundesliga. The Serbian forward scored an impressive 27 goals in 48 appearances including an incredible five goals in one game.

Luka Jovic was one of the most sought after players in the summer and in the end he opted to join Real Madrid. However that transfer has been far from successful.

Since joining the Galacticos Luka Jovic is yet to prove himself in the Spanish capital. He has struggled to fight himself into becoming Zinedine Zidane’s first choice striker and has made just 14 appearances this season scoring a paltry 1 goal.

With Karim Benzema in such fine form it does not seem that Luka Jovic is likely to get a proper shot in the first team at Madrid and it seems Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to capitalise on the Serbian’s situation.

Manchester United are in desperate need for a striker after Romelu Lukaku’s departure and Luka Jovic would be guaranteed plenty of playing time. With the Serbian clearly having a knack for scoring goals he could be a fine addition at Old Trafford.
