5. Haaland to sign for Manchester United?
The most sensational transfer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could make this January is a reunion with one of his former prodigies in Erling Braut Haaland. The pair worked together with one another at Molde where Solskjaer gave Haaland his first taste of professional football.
Since then both have parted ways with the Norwegian club and have gone onto greater and better things. Haaland has been remarkable in the Austrian Bundesliga for Red Bull Salzburg scoring 16 goals in just 14 games during the first half of the season. In addition the 19 year old has also ripped the Champions League apart with a fantastic debut season in which Haaland managed to find the back of the net eight times in six appearances.
That sort of incredible goal scoring prowess has made Haaland one of the most sought after stars in world football. The likes of RB Leipzig, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona have been linked with vying for his services. But it is Manchester United who has been the most heavily linked with the young star.
He was rumoured to have met with Solskjaer earlier this week and even to have flown to Manchester.
Haaland could be a huge signing for the club and the name that could take Manchester United back to the top once more at last. Having already worked under Solskjaer that special relationship could just clinch it for Manchester United in January if Haaland does decide to depart Red Bull Salzburg.
