Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof has shared his thoughts on the potential signing of Harry Maguire from Leicester City this summer.

Manchester United fans will be very excited after hearing what Victor Lindelof had to say about one of the club’s key transfer targets this summer.

Everyone knows that the Red Devils have been after Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire for quite some time now, stretching back to Jose Mourinho’s tenure at the club.

His successor, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, appears to share the Portuguese’s enthusiasm for the England international, and reports have resurfaced linking him with a move to Old Trafford.

Numerous outlets such as talkSport have claimed that United have already reached a deal with Leicester for their star man and that he is already on his way to Manchester for a medical.

However, the fact that no follow-up news regarding the reported medical has come out suggests that these sources were unreliable.

Nevertheless, many reputable sources such as BBC Sport have confirmed that United are indeed interested in signing Maguire, and if fans need any more convincing, Lindelof himself has commented on his potential arrival.

Speaking to ESPN FC, the Sweden international had this to say about his club’s pursuit of Maguire, who could potentially partner him in defence next season:

I think everyone at this club wants to be at the highest level.”"

Lindelof seems to be excited by the potential signing of Maguire this summer, suggesting that the arrival of a new centre-back like himself would push him to do better in training and on the pitch.

Let’s just hope that the United board are on the same page as the player, as £80million is still a rediculous fee to pay for a defender, meaning that they may need more convincing before they agree to splash the cash.
