Gary Neville reveals his pick for next Manchester United right back
By Ali Akbar
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has revealed who he thinks should be the club’s next right back – and thinks he is well worth the £60m they may need to fork out for him.
When you’re talking about some of the greatest right backs to ever play the game, one of the names you can’t go without mentioning is Gary Neville.
The Manchester United legend has had an illustrious career at Old Trafford spanning three decades, making 602 appearances for the club and winning eight Premier Leagues, three FA Cups and two Champions Leagues.
So when Neville heaps praise on a right-back playing today, it means something. This is why the pundit grabbed everyone’s attention when he labelled Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka “a massive talent”.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks at Palace and has now become an integral part of the first team, making 35 Premier League appearances for the club last season.
United have reportedly been interested in signing Wan-Bissaka for some time now, as they have already let go of right-back Antonio Valencia and are looking to sell Matteo Darmian this summer as well.
According to The Daily Mail, the Red Devils have already opened the bidding for the England youth international at £25million. However, Palace are demanding £60million for their star man, given his importance to the squad and high potential.

Neville acknowledged that the “price is always going to be big” when signing a player from another Premier League club. Nevertheless, he wants the club to “go back down that route” of signing youngsters, so paying “£50million or £60million” for Wan-Bissaka is something United should not think twice about.
United struggled defensively last season, keeping just seven clean sheets in the Premier League after conceding a whopping 54 goals.
Wan-Bissaka made 129 tackles, 84 interceptions and 206 ball recoveries for Roy Hodgson’s side in the Premier League last season, helping them stay well above the relegation zone.
The Red Devils would therefore be wise to give in to the Eagles’ demands, as they would be gaining a player who would make an instant improvement to their back line.
