Reports suggest that Sergio Ramos wants to leave Real Madrid in the summer, with Manchester United being one of the clubs interested in signing the centre-back.

Yes, you read that right. Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is reportedly looking to leave in the summer transfer window after an astonishing 14 years at the club.

The centre-back has made 606 appearances for Los Blancos since joining them back in 2005 from Sevilla, scoring an impressive 84 goals despite his position.

More significantly, Ramos has won a whopping 20 trophies during his time at Madrid, including four La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies.

However, according to Spanish television programme El Chiringuito and news outlet Marca, the 33-year-old’s relationship with the club has soured this season, and he is prepared to walk away in the summer.

Real have endured one of their worst seasons in recent years, losing 12 games and conceding 46 goals in La Liga – although they managed to finish in 3rd place.

Their lowest moment of the season was when they crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Ajax, suffering a 4-1 thrashing at their own ground.

Ramos reportedly fell out will out with club president Florentino Perez after he confronted the players in the dressing room following the defeat.

According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United are “set to pounce” on the dissatisfied Madrid player, although it is understood that manager Zinedine Zidane is keen to keep him at the club.

This isn’t the first time Ramos has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, as the Red Devils reportedly bid £28.6m for the Spain international back in 2015, which was ultimately rejected.

United are still in dire need of a new centre-back after finishing the 2018-19 Premier League season with a goal difference of just 11 and keeping a measly seven clean sheets.

However, The Daily Mail also reports that they may face competition from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, who have also expressed an interest in Ramos’ signature.
