Manchester United to sign Nicolas Pepe for £69m from Lille?

Reports suggest that Manchester United are interested in signing Lille winger Nicolas Pepe in the summer transfer window.
Lille manager Christophe Galtier has confirmed that Nicolas Pepe will leave the club in the summer amid strong interest from Premier League clubs.
Pepe, who primarily plays on the right wing, has scored 21 goals and registered 12 assists in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side this campaign, and has expressed his desire to join a bigger club at the end of the season.
According to Mail Online, Manchester United and Arsenal lead the clubs showing interest in the youngster, who is valued at £69million by his club.
The Red Devils have struggled to field a consistent front three for some time now, in large part due to the lack of natural right wingers at the club.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified the right-wing spot as being a position that needs strengthening in the summer transfer window, and he has already shown an interest in Swansea City winger Daniel James.
However, 19-year-old James has only scored four goals and registered nine assists in the Championship this season, and has never played in the top flight.
On the other hand, 23-year-old Pepe has top-flight experience and, being four years older, could slot into the starting XI straight away – although he will be more expensive because of this.
Nevertheless, Pepe may find the Emirates a more attractive destination than Old Trafford, as Arsenal have a chance of playing in the Champions League next season, should they beat Chelsea in the Europa League final on May 29.
United fans will be able to assess their potential new signing when he represents Ivory Coast at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations next month.
