Goal of the Season
Andreas Pereira is one who can be quietly pleased with his season, not one to shout from the rooftops about but he is another player who enjoyed regular first-team action when Solskjaer arrived in December.
The Brazilian played 22 times for the Red Devils scoring one goal and it wasn’t a bad one either.
United were trailing Southampton at the time 1-0 and after a lovely flowing counter-attack the ball found its way to Pereira 30 yards out from goal. With no obvious option in front of him, he shifted the ball out of his feet and whipped a curling shot into the top right corner.
Solskjaer’s men ended up winning the match 3-2, thanks to a last gasp winner from Romelu Lukaku. However, it was Pereira’s strike which won the Goal of the Season, with a resounding 45% of the vote.
