Can Manchester United pull off an unlikely win against Manchester City at Old Trafford after getting battered 4-0 by Everton on the weekend?
Having been knocked out of the FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League, securing top four is Manchester United’s only chance to rescue what has been a difficult season to say the least.
A top-four finish looked likely when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was first appointed as caretaker manager, as he took United on a 12-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
However, since being handed the role permanently, the Red Devils have been woeful, losing three out of their last five league games – the most recent being a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Everton.
Worse still, Solskjaer’s men face rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford next, and they will need all three points if they want to be in with the chance of playing Champions League football next season.
