Manchester United vs Barcelona preview – team news, press conference quotes and more!

1 of 5

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United play Ernesto Valverde’s Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at Old Trafford.

Manchester United could not be facing Barcelona at a worse time.

The Red Devils are currently enduring their worst patch of form since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over at the club after the sacking of Jose Mourinho, having lost three out of their last four games.

In this period, United have fallen to 6th place in the Premier League table and have been knocked out of the FA Cup – with another cup exit likely on the horizon.

Solskjaer’s side managed a historic comeback in their last Champions League outing, beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 at the Parc des Princes after losing 2-0 in the first leg at home – a feat no side has ever before achieved in the history of the competition.

However, Barcelona are not bottlejobs like PSG, and should United fail to get a result at Old Trafford on Wednesday, there will be no coming back for them this time around.
