What positions do Manchester United need to strengthen in and WHO?
By Ollie Slack
Right winger
First choice: Jadon Sancho; second choice: Callum Hudson-Odoi
I’m not sure I really need to delve into why Jadon Sancho would be a great option for Manchester United in the summer. He’s let his football very much do the talking, both on the domestic and international stage.
He ticks every box. He’s a winger, young, quick, skilful and has mature decision making which has helped deliver nine goals and 17 assists this season. Adhering to the traditions of Manchester United too, he is an English talent which will count towards the clubs homegrown quota too.
With other clubs potentially eyeing up the 19-year old, United should not be afraid to break the bank in order to sign him. Like Declan Rice, if successful he could be at the club for a very long time.
The second choice, Callum Hudson-Odoi is a similar talent. The only difference between the two is that Hudson-Odoi has not moved abroad to a foreign league where clubs are less scared to give young players game time.
Ed Woodward may find it difficult to negotiate with Chelsea though, who will not want to sell to a Premier League rival. However, with the 18-year olds contract running out in 2020, the Blues may want to get rid now to avoid letting him go for nothing.
