Freedom: the shackles are off

Watching Manchester United under Jose Mourinho was like walking eleven dogs on a lead all wanting to desperately run around but instead being restrained by their owner. But Solskjaer seems to have released the hounds, allowing them to play with so much more freedom.

One of the consistent questions that United fans asked when Mourinho was at the helm was, “how much more could another manager get out of this group of players?” And we’ve seen in the space of seven games that the squad had a lot more to give than it was demonstrating.

Some could argue that shows a group of players who were not giving their all to Mourinho and I don’t disagree. But, unfortunately, it now seems a job of the modern manager is to ensure his players are motivated. Player power is such a key influence in the current era, a manager has to find different ways to inspire his team and keep them on board.

By giving this group of players the chance to express themselves and play with freedom, Solskjaer has allowed Manchester United fans to see the true potential of the team and how much quality they actually possess.
