There was a freshness about Solskjaer’s smile

From the first moment Solskjaer arrived back at the club, he had a grin from ear to ear, describing his return as, “being back home”.

That excitement and energy are naturally going to rub off on players, especially when in such contrast to the man who walked the corridors of Carrington before him.

Jose Mourinho never really looked as if he was enjoying his time at Manchester United. Even when the Portugues boss lifted his first major trophy, the League Cup, he couldn’t manage a grin on the Wembley platform.

There is no doubt that affects the players. Eventually grinding them down. So when Soslkjaer bounced into training, laughing, joking, enjoying himself, the group of players would have instantly felt more energised.
