2nd: Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku is a goal machine for Belgium. I guess he was always going to score more goals this calendar year due to the extra matches a major tournament brings. But to score 14 goals in 14 games is simply ridiculous. You can’t look past those numbers.

Romelu has also officially been crowned Belgium’s all-time top goalscorer at the age of 25. The Royal Belgium FA had awarded him the accolade late last year following a 1-0 win over Japan taking Lukaku to 31 goals, however, FIFA’s tally was only on 28 at the time. This was due to the fact they had ruled out three of his goals he scored against Luxemburg in 2014 in a match which has since been written off.

Finally, in June this year, Lukaku officially became Belgium’s all-time leading goalscorer after a 3-0 win over Egypt.

Let’s not forget how well Lukaku performed on the biggest stage of all too, netting four goals and helping his side to 3rd place at the World Cup in Russia.
