Jesse Lingard – 5

Lingard made some nice passes here and there but was otherwise pretty mediocre against Young Boys. Last season, he made a name for himself with some spectacular goals, but he just hasn’t been the same after the World Cup this summer.

Marcus Rashford  – 5

On the one hand, you could praise Rashford for getting into great positions to pull a shot off. On the other, you could criticise him for being woeful at finishing the great chances he created for himself. I’m of the latter camp – he needs to be putting the ball away more often for United, otherwise, another spell on the bench will await him.

Anthony Martial – 5

The Frenchman wasn’t really involved in much of United’s play. At least Rashford showed some energy to collect the ball and do something with it – Martial just seemed to wait until the ball got to his feet and even then didn’t create any meaningful chances.
