Jesse Lingard – 5

The England international was completely ineffective all game around. Yes, he is one of our more energetic players – but he needs to stay disciplined and go direct at times instead of just moving from side to side. I’d like to see Marcus Rashford start on the right wing next game.

Juan Mata – 5

Mata struggled to get on the ball, and whenever he did, he didn’t manage to create any meaningful chances. Still, I’d like to see the Spaniard keep his place in the starting XI – he just needs to get on the end of passes and link up better with his teammates.

Anthony Martial – 5

Although the French forward looked dangerous at times, he lost the ball far too often, and his shooting left much to be desired. He also squandered a brilliant opportunity to put United in front in the first half when he failed to put any power on a header from a rebound off of a save by Wayne Hennessey. Pull it together, Martial!

Romelu Lukaku – 6

Lukaku’s hold up play was much better than in previous games, although his touch was still poor at times. He did manage to score but it was rightly ruled offside. He’s getting there – he just needs that extra push to get back into goalscoring form.
