Manchester United had made a blistering start to the 2017/18 campaign going unbeaten in six and winning five of them before the visit of Burton Albion to Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup.

Marcus Rashford had also been in top form, but so had winger Anthony Martial meaning both were alternating in 70-minute cameos between one another. But this match presented Rashford with an opportunity not only to nail down a starting position but also in his favoured position as the main striker.

Rashford took this opportunity with both hands and in the process scored a wonder goal. He exchanged passes with Daley Blind before unleashing a powerful strike at Burton keeper Connor Ripley with arrowed into the net off the left-hand post.
