Bournemouth vs Manchester United preview – Jose Mourinho should not underestimate the small side who punch above their weight

After a shaky start to the campaign, Manchester United have the chance to make their first successive win since the first half of September. Beating the lesser sides in the Premier League is crucial if the Red Devils are to climb back up the table – but Bournemouth are no pushovers under Eddie Howe this season…

Manchester United’s form guide this season is one of the most depressing things I’ve ever seen: WLLWWDLWDW.

I wish I were making that up, but no. We have to accept that we’re looking like a midtable team at the moment and that our mentality has to improve. Fast.

Although our previous two Premier League games consisted of a respectable away draw against Chelsea and a home win against Everton, we must start putting together consecutive wins again if we ever hope to finish in the top four this season.

When we play Bournemouth on Saturday, we have to face the fact that we’re no longer the favourites going into these tough away games against smaller clubs.

Eddie Howe’s side have been more impressive than us this season and are more than capable of breaking down our lacklustre defence. Indeed, we’re currently 8th in the league with a goal difference of 0 while Bournemouth are in 6th place with a goal difference of 7.

So, what will it take to beat the Cherries on Saturday? Keep on reading to find out…
