Ander Herrera – 4
I feel for Herrera. Jose Mourinho decided to play the Spanish midfielder in a back three, a position similar to where he has had to cover for Antonio Valencia when he’d bombed forward in the past.
Started the match well as he’s a good reader of the game but after a couple of shaky moments towards the end of the first half, he was at fault for the second goal.
Chris Smalling – 6
Smalling looked very composed and pocketed Harry Kane once again in the first half. Second half was a little less commanding as his challenge on Lucas Moura for the third goal was very brittle.
Phil Jones – 4
Jones started the match similarly to Smalling as both looked solid. However, after giving the referee a decision to make when barging into Moura in the first half, he suddenly looked very suspect.
Lost Kane for the first goal and let Eriksen wonder in behind him for the second when setting up Moura. Unfortunately, the Englishman seemed to pick up yet another injury, limping off in the 58th minute.
