But the 33-year old has been a solid member of the Gareth Southgate’s squad this time around, a consistent performer.

At left-wing back, Young has offered a threat going forward and shown his defensive qualities when tracking back. As well as this his delivery from set-pieces has given England a new found weapon to their armour.

Jesse Lingard has slipped down one place to third in the player rankings, not due to his own performances it must be said. The Manchester United forward has had a tremendous tournament.

His ability to run in behind defences has been one of England’s main threats going forward in Russia. With the accuracy of Kieran Trippier at right-wing back to find him the two have linked up really well.

Lingard will be now hoping to kick on for Manchester United and make the number 10 position his own, week in, week out.
