World Cup: How did Manchester United’s England players fare on the world’s biggest stage?

Ashley Young – 7
At 33-years of age, Ashley Young has been terrific this tournament. He would never have imagined he would be playing in a World Cup at left-back at his age when he returned home from his last major tournament six years ago.
As well as providing an attacking threat down the left flank, Young has been relatively solid at the back for an original winger. Despite a few shaky moments, he’s showed some defensive qualities that even some natural left-backs at this tournament have failed to demonstrate.
Another string to Young’s bow is his set-piece delivery. His delivery from corner kicks and free-kicks along with Kieran Trippier has been on the money every time. Consistent. Much like his overall tournament.
