A 3-0 win over Mexico in the final group game meant Sweden topped Group F. Despite a late barrage of Mexican pressure Lindelof and his defence stood strong.

In a much more close and cagey affair, Sweden needed to ensure they stayed concentrated for the whole match against Switzerland in the Last 16. Once again Lindelof stepped up to the plate securing a third Swedish clean sheet.
