England lost the match 1-0 as both teams fielded weaker sides in order to rest their first team. However, the losing side would finish second in the group avoiding Brazil in the Quarterfinals.

Jones had a solid match. He was fairly untroubled but wasn’t tested enough in order for him to stake a claim for a starting spot.

Marouane Fellaini lined up against Jones in that England match. Likewise, he also had a quiet match.

However, the Manchester United giant made a tremendous impact in their Last 16 tie against Japan. Trailing 2-0 and in desperate need of a goal Roberto Martinez threw Fellaini on, much like Jose Mourinho does at Old Trafford.

Belgium pulled one back. And just as it looked as if the Red Devils would be exiting the competition up lept Fellaini to nod home an equaliser. Belgium went on to win the match 3-2 with a stoppage-time counter-attack. But as always, Fellaini did his job!
