Manchester United bid 35 million for Anderson Talisca
By Wyatt Miner
Jose Mourinho hunts for more transfer bargains, as he places a 35 million euro bid for Benfica’s Anderson Talisca.
Already, Mourinho has found two signings in Fred and Dalot for Manchester United. Additionally, the boss seeks another signature, which would make for three signings in a two week period. Furthermore, the attacking midfielder may find playing time if the transfer goes through because Mourinho seeks to make numerous sales this summer.
Talisca has yet to make a senior debut for the Brazilian national team, but he played for the U-23 team. For the 2017/18 season, Talisca spent the last two seasons on loan to Besiktas, where they have an option to buy the midfielder. However, they have to notify Benfica before the month is over. Otherwise, the clause inserted into the loan deal will expire.
Besiktas’ loan deal would allow the club to sign the attacking midfielder for around 20 million euros. Manchester United seek to pay 15 million more to land the Brazilian.
Anderson Talisca statistics 2017/18 season
In the Turkish league, Talisca played a grand total of 2686 minutes, which equates to about 33 appearances for the season. Of those 33 appearances made for Besiktas, the Brazilian midfielder found the net 15 times.
Additionally, Besiktas made an appearance in the Champions League this season. Moreover, Talisca made eight appearances in the Champions League, finding the net 4 times for the Turkish side.
How would Talisca line up for Manchester United?
With persistent rumors of Paul Pogba moving away from Manchester United, it is likely that Talisca would take a role similar to Pogba’s. Talisca roam the midfield, providing support where needed. In addition, the young Brazilian would provide Romelu Lukaku with the passes that usually lead to goal.
In the starting eleven, Talisca would line up in front of two defensive midfielders, such as Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay. The Brazilian midfielder would provide power in the attack, without having to worry about playing defense. While the attacking mid would still play a little defense, his game would not revolve around his defensive abilities.
