Zinedine Zidane recently stepped down from the Real Madrid hot seat after the 3-1 Champions League final win over Liverpool.

This marks the end of a 2 1/2 year spell with Los Blancos where Zidane has conquered everything possible, with 9 trophies and a record 3 consecutive Cl trophies.

While Jose Mourinho is currently the right man to lead Manchester United, his spell with the Red Devils hasn’t been eye-catching. Despite finishing second, the club has failed to impress, often lacking in ideas.

Should Jose Mourinho leave in the near future, here’s why the Frenchman’s name will pop up in the near future.

Style of Play

The Frenchman’s tactical approach has generally been spot on during his 2 1/2 year spell. Zidane has managed to play attacking, guang-ho football yet has also known when to park the bus.

An expansive style of football, with key, attacking full backs has certainly been appealing. Yet Zidane has been able to grind out results, with games against Juventus and Bayern Munich proof. Madrid were often pinned back for long periods of time, yet managed to hold on.

He can close down a game as good as Antonio Conte, yet he also can attack like Jurgen Klopp’s heavy metal!

It this balanced approach that could serve Utd well in the future.

Man Management

Zidane has managed to extract the best from his star studded, Galatico lineup.

Getting the best out of Ronaldo, Bale, Isco, Asensio and other stars can be daunting, yet Zidane  has rotated them well.

His substitutions have been spot on too, with Gareth Bale coming off the bench to score twice in Kiev.

By contrast, Jose Mourinho has struggled to unleash his star power. Alexis Sanchez has blown-hot blown-cold, and Paul Pogba has been dropped many a time.

Proven at just 45!

Zidane has mustered an unbelievable 9 trophies in around 2 1/2 seasons, in his first spell with a top club. In that time, he has won more Cl trophies than most managerial greats.

At just 45, he offers a long term option. While predecessor Rafael Benitez struggled Zindane was a breath of fresh air.

Many football pundits have downplayed Zidane’s achievements claiming that winning trophies with Real is easy. In truth however, he has dealt with an ageing Ronaldo, an injury prone ball and a squad in need of new additions.
