After a disappointing loss to Brighton and Hove Albion, Manchester United look to recover, both in spirits and in points.

Recently, Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson suffered a brain hemorrhage, so the United players aim to win this one for the original boss.

Manchester United already clinched a top four finish, which guarantees European competition in the next season. Going into the next match week in the Premier League, United face off against West Ham United. While a win is not essential to the Red Devils, three points would lift spirits around Old Trafford.

Among the West Ham players, Javier Hernandez will face a visit from his old Premier League club. Furthermore, Hernandez proved to be a great player off the bench. Additionally, he may play a role in this week’s face off between Manchester United and West Ham.

Also among the West Ham squad, Joe Hart will most likely get the start in goal. Hart has plenty of experience against Manchester United, as he used to play for rivals Manchester City. However, Hart is experiencing a poor run of form, and he lacks the support needed from the rest of his team. West Ham sit dangerously close to relegation, in fifteenth place. Going into this match, Jose Mourinho has plenty to exploit in the weaker West Ham side.

While West Ham is a weaker side, United loses to teams that they should beat. For example, United lost to West Brom, and more recently, Brighton. In both of those games, United deserved the win, but they lost because they failed to score first. United cannot overlook West Ham because they already lost several games that they should have won.

What players should Mourinho start to defeat West Ham United?

As of now, it is unclear if Romelu Lukaku will play because he suffered an ankle injury only a few weeks ago. With the World Cup approaching fast, Lukaku should get the start if he is healthy. His attacking power combined with his physicality will prove to be difficult for the West Ham defense.

With Pogba in good form, Mourinho surely looks to the Frenchman to bolster United’s attack in the midfield. In addition to his good form, he earned the “Player of the Month” award from Manchester United.

Because the World Cup is approaching, it is likely that Mourinho will start players that will feature for their countries this summer. While the Ivory Coast did not make the World Cup, an Eric Bailly start would prove to be helpful for United.

West Ham looks to add to an increasingly long list of embarrassing losses for Manchester United. Key players for United are not in the World Cup, so it is possible that some of United’s best players will not feature for the club on Thursday. Can United still manage to hand West Ham another defeat in an uneventful Premier League season?
