Danny Rose targeted by Manchester United
By Wyatt Miner
Jose Mourinho aims to sign a full back in the upcoming transfer window, as Danny Rose made his target list.
In this year’s season, Manchester United looked like a strong side. However, it appears as if the Red Devils lacked support in the defense. More specifically, United lacked a reasonable number of players to play outside-back.
With Rose on Mourinho’s target list, the boss hopes to strengthen Manchester United’s defense. Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young left great impressions playing in the defense, but there are not enough men to play the position.
If Manchester United manage to sign the english left-back, this will allow Mourinho to cycle his players. In the long run, Mourinho will be able to give hard working players, like Ashley Young, a break. Perhaps, the acquisition of Rose could lead to winning more games because the Red Devils will become more energized.
Even though the English defenseman has only made 7 appearances this season, he managed to maintain an 83% tackle success rate. For a left-back, that is a decent success rate, but Mourinho will look to utilize Rose in the attack. For instance, both Young and Luke Shaw join the attack whenever they take the field. If he joins United, Rose’s pace will give him an advantage in attack and defense.
Look at Danny Rose’s best moments in the Tottenham shirt last season:
Who would Danny Rose pair up with in defense?
When looking at the defenders available for action, Rose would most likely best pair up with his international teammates, Chris Smalling or Phil Jones. Additionally, when paired up with a healthy Eric Bailly, United’s defense would be increasingly difficult to penetrate.
Ultimately, Mourinho only looks to strengthen his starting eleven. With the addition of Danny Rose, the Red Devils will look a much stronger team. Mourinho led United to a great position in the Premier League table, but the addition of defenders will only strengthen United’s claim to the title.
Next: Paul Pogba kept it simple and was outstanding for it
It all comes down to Tottenham accepting a bid for the left-back. While the Englishman has not played much at all this season, he could prove to be an outstanding signing for Mourinho. In the coming transfer window, it appears as if Mourinho is open to offers on pretty much anybody. Come next season, it is possible that supporters could see a much different United team.
