In a very hard fought match, Manchester United got the best of Tottenham 2-1. Furthermore, the power in United’s midfield proved to be too much for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The match got off to quick start. Both of the English teams came out with the intent of possessing the ball. Additionally, Manchester United and Tottenham looked like strong sides, but the Tottenham team ultimately could not keep the ball out of the net.

While Tottenham lost the match, they were the first to strike. For instance, the ball came down into de Gea’s 18 yard box. Then, Christian Erikson sent a perfect cross into the box for a simple Dele Alli tap in.

However, it did not take long for Manchester United to answer. For example, minutes later, Pogba sent the ball into the box from out wide. Alexis Sanchez was unmarked in the box and the Chilean headed the ball into the net as he was falling down.

The first half saw an even match because both teams looked like strong sides. Surely, Tottenham earned more chances on goal in the first half, but they simply could not find the net. On the other side, United earned a few opportunities to score, but like Tottenham, they were unlucky.

In the second half, the teams came back onto the pitch ready to battle. Just like in the first half, the possession appeared to be split 50-50. Early in the second half, Ander Herrera found the net through the legs of Ben Davies. The shot was low and hard, proving a difficult shot to manage for Michel Vorm.
