Despite a dull 0-0 draw with Sevilla in the first leg, Manchester United face off with Sevilla again in the second leg of the round of 16.

Manchester United must match the intensity they played with against Liverpool if they want to beat Sevilla. Furthermore, Sevilla is not easy opponent as they are strong in attack. Manchester United could have easily lost if David de Gea was not in form.

With Lukaku in great form, one could expect Mourinho to utilize him in any way possible. He is starting to adapt to how Mourinho wants him to play. A perfect example of this is in the Liverpool game. For instance, on United’s first goal, a simple flick onto Rashford was enough to lead to a goal.

The Belgian superstar is evolving into a team player, and he could be the difference in Tuesday’s matchup.

On the other side, Luis Muriel is a dangerous striker that Manchester United must be aware of. For example, the Columbian is a fast striker, and it is entirely possible for him to break away from United’s defense. For this reason, Manchester United’s defense must be aware of Sevilla’s attacking power.

On the season, Muriel found the net for a grand total of 21 times in all competitions. However, the responsibility to stop him lies on United’s back line.

What would it mean to the club if United advance to the knockout stage?

It has been multiple years since Manchester United advanced into the knockout stage. With a win in tomorrow’s game, United will advance into the knockout stage; where they have a significant chance to take home silverware in European competition (again).

The last time United made it into the knockout stage, Sir Alex Ferguson was the manager. Even though Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League, and they are on the verge of advancing in the Champions League, pundits do not consider United to be elite.

The truth is, Manchester United have a great chance to make a serious attempt at winning the Champions League.
