The last four fixtures between these two bitter rivals have ended draws. Two of those the scoreline 0-0. Some were starting to doubt the passion and the meaning of this fixture.

In the second half, Manchester United showed what it meant to win against their arch-rivals. They dug deep to keep Liverpool out. Because of this, De Gea wasn’t tested.

The crowd played their part as well. From erupting when Rashford scored to chanting “off!” at the Lovren challenge in the second half.

It felt like a fixture of past times featuring the hatted Gerrard and Rooney. A fixture with 199 bitterly fought contests in the bank. It felt like, Manchester United vs Liverpool.
