Manchester United defeated arch-rivals Liverpool 2-1 this lunchtime. I’ll be taking you through the 5 things we learned from a brilliant performance at Old Trafford.

First-half goals from Marcus Rashford gave United breathing space before a resolute second-half display kept Liverpool out.

Despite lots of possession Liverpool rarely threatened David De Gea’s goal. An Eric Bailly own goal halved the deficit but Liverpool couldn’t find the equaliser.

The match finished 2-1 as a booming Old Trafford serenaded the players when leaving the pitch.
