Multiple reports state that prominent figures atop at Old Trafford are angered by Mourinho’s comments. To be fair, it’s not like they have refused the Portuguese manager any signings.
The club has spent an excess of £250m since he took over, including a then-world-record £89m on Paul Pogba.
The Express reports that United are fine with Mourinho voicing his complaints, but won’t stand for him ‘belittling’ the club.
Manchester City have spent more than United over the past two seasons. But the amount in difference isn’t enough to justify Pep’s 15 point lead over the Red Devils.
Guardiola has created one of the best teams in the history of English football. They set a record with 18 consecutive wins, and have yet to lose a game this season.
They have only dropped points twice this season in the Premier League from draws with Everton and lowly Crystal Palace.

Heading into the Manchester Derby in early December, Mourinho’s men could have reduced the gap to just five points. However, a lackluster display from the home side saw City essentially clench the league, and the results from the past few weeks have guaranteed it.
Mourinho has a right to be frustrated — but he’s pointing his frustration in the wrong place. The board has spent money — a lot of money. The quality of the team isn’t the issue.
