Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has had an up and down start to life at Old Trafford. Following a fantastic start to life at the club, he found himself in a terrible barren run.

Lukaku found the net just once in 12 games during his barren run, and the lack of goals reportedly led to a ‘bust-up’ with United manager Jose Mourinho.

The Metro reports the incident stemmed from an argument over the Belgian’s positioning in the box. The Portuguese manger was insistent upon the star striker listening to his advice. But Lukaku wasn’t having it as the two found themselves in a war of words.

This was in all likliness just Lukaku’s emotions boiling over out of frustration.

The £75 million summer signing has ended his drought lately, scoring three times in the past four games.

Manchester United fans were beginning to doubt Lukaku’s place in the team as he continued to struggle in front of goal game after game.

Many fans even suggested that Mourinho drop Lukaku for a game or two following the Manchester Derby. United were embarrassed 2-1 at home and Romelu Lukaku had his worst game in a United shirt.

Lukaku has all of the potential in the world. He’s just 24-years old, and has nearly scored 100 goals in the Premier League. He’s a fantastic player, but there are parts of his game that could definitely be improved.

Jose is hard on his players. He expects perfection, and he definitely wants Lukaku to develop into a world-class talent.

Sometimes bust-ups happen. Players are emotional, and the game is full of passion.

But if Lukaku continues his impressive form there will be little that Mourinho can be angered by.
