Manchester United set to raid Chelsea for £90m star forward
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has long been a supporter of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. They spent years together in London as Hazard developed into one of the world’s best.
And now reports suggest that Mourinho could make a return trip to Chelsea — this time to sign Eden Hazard from the Blues.
Neil Custis from The Sun reported that Mourinho was eager to get former player in his new team.
"“Jose Mourinho is planning a British record £90million move for Chelsea star Eden Hazard. The Manchester United boss believes he can beat Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to the brilliant Belgian playmaker.”"
However unlikely this may seem, anything is possible. Manchester United certainly have the cash if they wanted to go in for the Belgian forward. £90million is an eye-watering amount of money, but the 26-year old has the potential to be one of the world’s best.
Should Mourinho and United purse the 26-year old, they will face stiff competition. European giants PSG and Real Madrid have Hazard as one of their top targets in next summer’s transfer window.
£90 million on Hazard would smash the British transfer record that United already hold. They paid £89m for Paul Pogba in the summer of 2016. And last summer they spent £75 on Romelu Lukaku but it could potentially rise to £90m.
Hazard has played a huge part of Chelsea’s title run last season, and in the 2014-15 season when Mourinho was still at the helm. His all-around play make him an invaluable asset.
He can score, assist, dribble. Hazard is so close to the complete package. The Belgian’s largest flaw is his inability to consistently perform like Leo Messi, Ronaldo, and Neymar.
In the past, Mourinho has compared Eden Hazard to the likes of Ronaldo. It may have been a stretch back then, but Hazard has shown why those comparisons stared.

He would be a fantastic player should United pry him away from Stamford Brigde. But unlike with Nemanja Matic, they might not want to sell Hazard to a direct rival.
