Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal hasn’t been silent on how he felt he was treated at the club.
Taking over after David Moyes failed season at Manchester United, the team turned to Louis van Gaal to turn things around. But after lots of boring football, 0-0 draws, and a fifth place finish in the Premier League, he was let go in favor of Jose Mourinho.
The Dutchman has been vocal in his displeasure with the manor in which he was fired. Van Gaal is still without a club, but speaking to DeTelegraaf he said the following:
"“I will probably not manage a club anymore. I would make one exception—if a big English club comes for me, then I would do it. Because then I can get the chance to get one over on Manchester United.”"
The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager hasn’t managed since he was fired shortly after winning the 2016 FA Cup. He took great offense with the circumstances surrounding his release — and the man who replaced him.
United had stagnated under Van Gaal. They finished worse in the Premier League than they had the season before. He failed to get them to the knockout stages of the Champions League. The season was a loss.
Perhaps the best thing Van Gaal did was give a young striker a chance in the first team. Maybe you’ve heard of him — Marcus Rashford.

During the 66-year olds’ tenure, Old Trafford would constantly ring with the fans chanting, “ATTACK! ATTACK!” Fans weren’t pleased with the United way of play under Van Gaal, and that was one of the largest factors in his demise.
He’s still bitter about the way the club ended their relationship. Van Gaal believes he was the right man for the job at United — but he wasn’t. His style of play was, well, boring. We all saw it — more like suffered through it.
Jose certainly hasn’t been perfect the last season and a half. However, he’s been much better than Van Gaal was. United are scoring more goals, playing more exciting, and — most importantly — winning more games.
Any other year Manchester United would be the favorites to win the title if it weren’t for Manchester City’s dominance.

The Dutchman wants revenge on the club that let him go — it’s fair. But after his two years at the helm of United, its doubtful another rival would give him a chance.
