Following Manchester United’s deflating 2-1 derby loss to arch-rivals Manchester City, the visiting fans stuck around Old Trafford bellowing a chant that went viral.

“Park the bus, park the bus Man. United” was echoing around the Theatre of Dreams as United’s last dream of a Premier League title fell to the wayside. But as United visited West Brom this Sunday, the traveling fans made the chant their own.

Pep Guardiola’s side went 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League as United wasted a valuable chance to inject themselves back into the title race. Dominated in possession, the home side found few times to get forward in a game where City were running rampant on the pitch. The away fans were criticizing Jose Mourinho’s cautious style of play.

To their credit, they’re right. Too often Mourinho comes out too defensively. It stunts United’s attacks and City fans were taking a jab at their rivals when it would hurt most.

Manchester United followed up the derby loss with an uninspiring 1-0 home win over Bournemouth during the week. But this weekend, the club finally got off to a decent start.

Manchester United away fans are some of the best in football. They are rowdy, loud, travel very well, and can be heard at any stadium. After United’s two first half goals through Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku, the Reds burst into a sarcastic song.

After the pitiful performance last weekend to City, it was fantastic to see United show signs of life on the attack. The fans were loving it, and took the “Noisy Neighbor’s” chant upon themselves. Taking a jab at the City fans who mocked the Reds style of play last weekend.

Any other year Manchester United would be well on its way to another Premier League title. They have rarely dropped any points, and Mourinho has turned the team around unlike his predecessors. There’s just one problem:

Manchester City.

Pep’s side have won an English-record 16 straight games. They have the league in the bag, but it’s great to see the passion United fans still bring to each and every game.
