Manchester United to face Spanish side in Champions League Last 16
By Jake Knox
Manchester United have been drawn against Spanish side Sevilla FC in the last 16 of the Champions League. The first leg will see United travel to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium before the home game at Old Trafford.
The draw which took place at 11 am GMT in Kiev Ukraine saw five English teams in the last sixteen for the first time.
United who finished top of Group A ahead of Basel were joined in the draw by Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Teams from the same association are kept apart until the quarter finals and cannot be drawn against the other qualifier from the same group.
With this in mind, United could have been drawn against any of the following.
Bayern Munich
Juventus
Sevilla
Shakhtar Donetsk
Porto
Real Madrid.
United Fans Happy with Draw
Manchester United fans can be happy with the draw. Avoiding European giants, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus was the top priority.
Then no one wants a round trip to Ukraine so avoiding Shakhtar Donetsk was a positive result.
That left Portuguese giants Porto and Europa League giants Sevilla.

This will be the first meeting between the two clubs in the Champions League with Sevilla having qualified as runners-up in a group which featured Liverpool, Spartak Moscow and NK Maribor.
They have however won a staggering five Europa Leagues in the last 12 years so cannot be underestimated.
United fans will be familiar with both Steven N’Zonzi, Jesus Navas and Nolito from their time in the premiership.
While they don’t have any real household names, they are a well-drilled side with the potential to cause United some problems, although United should emerge victoriously over the 2 legged tie.
