Following Sunday’s loss to Manchester City, Jose Mourinho was reportedly involved in a ‘bust-up’ with City keeper Ederson.
Reports are surfacing of a post-match altercation between the Manchester United manager and Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson following City’s 2-1 win over United on Sunday. Mourinho was reportedly doused in milk by the goalkeeper as the two clashed following the key match.
The Manchester derby is always an emotion affair, and tempers always run hot on the pitch. Mourinho isn’t known for his composure, and was beside himself with the loud celebrations coming from the City dressing room.
The Telegraph reported that Mourinho confronted the City players, who were understandably celebrating the huge win.
During this confrontation, Mourinho and his compatriot Ederson, began a war of words that ended with Ederson tossing milk on Jose.
If the reports are to be believed, Mourinho and Ederson could face discipline from the English FA for the altercation.
Manchester United lost the match 2-1, but had a plethora of chances to equalize and take the lead. However, a frustrating night on the pitch carried over to the changing rooms.

Mourinho was furious in his post-match interview, where he refused to give Pep Guardiola’s side any credit for the win. His side is now 11 points behind City at the top of the league, and the title race seems to be over.
The derby was United’s best chance to get back into the title race. The Red Devils sit in second place, but a win could have cut City’s lead to just five points. Fans, players, and apparently Mourinho were all frustrated with the performance at Old Trafford on Sunday.
“The Special One” expects nothing less than perfection from his players. When things don’t go to plan, the anger on his face is evident.
This post-game bust up is classic. It’s a shame that United lost, but if the reports are true, this could go down in the lore of this rivalry.
