Antoine Griezmann has been linked with a move to Manchester United for over a year.
The French forward nearly joined Manchester United this season, but opted to stay at Atletico Madrid for one more season after they were hit with a season-long transfer ban.
Griezmann’s release clause reverts to €100m at the end of the season, and according to The Daily Star, that’s when United will make their move.
“United remain fans of the Frenchman while Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain are also keen,” the newspaper reported.
Griezmann has made a slow start to the season for Atletico, scoring just six times in 19 appearances. However, his world-class ability would make him a fantastic signing by United.
The Atletico fans have reportedly become frustrated with the 26-year old’s lack of a commitment to the club. He was even booed by supporters as he was subbed off the pitch during the Madrid derby this past weekend.
Atletico will also have Diego Costa returning to them next season. That signing alone made it seem like Diego Simeone was preparing for life without his star player.
Already chalk-full of French talent, Griezmann would join fellow compatriots Anthony Martial, and his good friend Paul Pogba.
‘Agent P’ has long fueled the speculation that Griezmann could potentially move, as the two have been seen many times together off of the pitch.
Pogba certainly helped Romelu Lukaku make up his mind this summer, and surely he could pull something similar with his international teammate.

Although it would be expensive, Griezmann would be a great signing for the club. He can play on either wing or down the middle. And with Zlatan coming to the end of his career, United will need to bolster the attack once again.
