Paul Pogba: Manchester United can win the Premier League
Paul Pogba returned to face Newcastle on Saturday, and the Red Devils once again looked like an unstoppable force.
And despite the eight point gap at the top of the table, Pogba believes that Manchester United can still fight to win the Premier League.
Talking to MUTV, Pogba had this to say: “To win the league we need all our players. When you have one injured here, one injured there, it doesn’t help. It’s always better to have a full team.”
Manchester United welcomed back Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo along with Pogba as the trio were finally cleared to play.
Both Rojo and Zlatan were injured in April, while Pogba has missed two months with a hamstring injury.
"“Zlatan’s back and Marcos after a long injury. It was hard for them but they kept believing and worked hard to come back. We need them to win the league and we’re really glad they’re here.”"
The return of Zlatan and Rojo are huge boosts to United title hopes. But the real focus was the return of the main man himself — Pogba.
The 24-year old was the man of the match in his return game, scoring and assisting as the Reds smashed Newcastle 4-1. Romelu Lukaku even ended his goalless drought with his friend’s return to the starting XI.
United are a completely different team with Pogba in the side. It’s amazing how one player can completely transform the way a team attacks.
The Frenchman allows Matic to sit deeper and play his traditional role, while he pulls the strings in attack. It’s what the Red Devils have missed the past two months as City have opened up an eight point lead atop the table.

But with Pogba back, United still have a chance. There are two more derby’s between the Manchester clubs still to play, so anything can happen.
Even Pogba understands that the team is relient on him — perhaps no player more than Lukaku.
“I come back and Romelu scores again? I like that.
“Romelu is the best striker in the Premier League. We know his quality. We don’t worry about him.”
Having Lukaku back in form is another great boost for United’s attack that had seemingly stagnated.
It looked like a different team on Saturday. One that was capable of challenging for Premier League title.
Should injuries stay away, the Red Devils are more than capable of pushing City to the limit.
