The Special One is at it again. With speculation ramping up that he could possibly leave for PSG this summer, Mourinho’s Manchester United future is foggy.
Mourinho signed a three-year deal with Manchester United last summer to keep him at Old Trafford until 2019. However, advanced contract talks have stalled, and his future is unknown.
Reports broke yesterday that French giants PSG are looking to replace current boss Unai Emery should he fail to deliver the Parisans their first Champions League trophy this June. PSG has identified Mourinho as his successor as they look to finally reach the elite of Europe.
These rumors have to be taken seriously. PSG have the financial means to get anyone in the world to make the move to Paris — just look at the Neymar transfer this past summer.
The allure of a cash-loaded club that will give you near limitless transfer funds would make any managers mouth water; and ESPN FC reports that Mourinho could take the bait.
"“…With PSG seemingly on a mission to land blows on all of their major European rivals — they beat Real Madrid to Kylian Mbappe, took Neymar from Barcelona and thwarted City’s move for Dani Alves — the French club will know that landing Mourinho from United would be another huge statement,” ESPN FC’s Mark Ogden wrote."
Manchester United chairman Ed Woodward held contract-extension talks with Mourinho earlier this season, but reports say that not progress has been made.
PSG are reportedly willing to wait until Mourinho’s Manchester United contract runs out in 2019. However, should Emery fail to impress this season, they could move for Jose next summer.

The news isn’t surprising, the timing is. Mourinho hasn’t been the happiest this past month. The manager has again and again complained about the atmosphere at Old Trafford, and criticized the fans for criticizing him.
It seems as if Mourinho is ready for a change in scenery.
‘The Special One’ has temporarily righted the ship that is United. He has taken us back to the Champions League and made us competitive in the Premier League once again.
