Anthony Martial: Manchester United’s Player of the Month for October
Anthony Martial’s fine form this season has seen him win Manchester United’s Player of the Month award for October, his second time winning it this campaign.
Martial has been brilliant for Manchester United this season. His work rate has been superb, and each game he has been a constant threat to score. He has now won the award in back to back months.
The 21-year old only scored one goal in October — but it was a massive goal. The late-winner against Tottenham saw United claim sole possession of second in the table. The Red Devils sit just five points back of league-leaders Manchester City.

The goal was of the utmost importance for United. Three points from the huge clash last weekend was a necessity to keep pace with City. What looked like a 0-0 draw was reversed when super-sub Martial scored the winner.
Featuring in six matches across all competitions, the former Monaco man has helped United to four wins while claiming two man of the match awards.
“Anthony is comfortable dropping in between the lines to help us drive the ball. His desire and contribution is good,” said Mourinho on Martial’s award.
Only Romelu Lukaku has found the back of the net more often than Martial so far this season. To see our young players producing at a high level is joy to watch, and the future of the club is in good hands.
Martial has seemingly forgot his struggles of last season, and is once again showing why he was the 2015 Golden Boy winner.
Mourinho has worked his magic on the young Frenchman and it’s worked wonders. Martial has embraced the competition with fellow forward Marcus Rashford, and the two players have been spectacular for the club this season.
France coach Didier Deschamps has taken notice of Martial, and has called him up for Les Bleus upcoming friendlies. He has 15 international caps already.

The voting for the Player of the Month award was held on twitter. Martial took 49% of the votes while David De Gea claimed 48%; Chris Smalling finished third with 3%.
