Manchester United have secured the signing of 15-year old wonderkid Rocco Fregapane from Huddersfield Town, per the Metro.
The Terriers, fresh off their first victory over Manchester United in 65 years, lost their prized prospect after their academy underwent a recent shake up.
Fregapane, a promising defender, joins a United academy that has been reloaded with talent over the past few years.
Huddersfield chariman Dean Hoyle said this on their failing academy:
“Our academy system must provide a strong and obvious pathway to the first-team for players who are good enough, whilst also representing value for the club.”
Manchester United will happily take advantage of the misfortune of Huddersfield, especially after the embarrassing loss suffered at their hands over the weekend.
Fregapane, an England U-15 international, is highly touted, and will look to continue to develop at United’s famed academy.
Fregapane’s father, Same, confirmed the transfer in a Facebook post.

“Well done to Rocco who today signed for Man Utd and he is off on England duty next week for the Under-15s. We are so proud of you.”
The timing of the transfer couldn’t have been more perfect. Although Jose Mourinho and the rest of the team are still fuming over the loss, the capturing of this future star will help take some of the sting away.
Manchester United have yet to release an official statement, but it appears as if the transfer could be announced at any time.
Fregapane will look to flourish at United’s youth academy which has produced many legendary footballers in the past.
Players like George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, David Beckham, and most recently, Marcus Rashford to name a few.
This is a brilliant move by the Red Devils, as reinvesting in youth can go on to pay dividends — Look at the ultra successful, Champions League winning class of ’92.
