Manchester United 2–1, 24 Jan 1999

The treble-winning season of 98/99 was an amazing achievement and still sends shivers down United fan’s spines. Everyone knows about the biggest come back that season. However, people forget just how many times United left it late in games.

The FA Cup 4th round game was one of these. Although United dominated possession and hit the woodwork twice. They left it until the dying minutes of the game before scoring twice in the last two minutes.

Once Dwight Yorke scored the first goal cancelling out Michael Owen’s early goal. There was only going to be one victor and super-sub Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed this with his goal two minutes later.

It was a result the BBC referred to as a ‘Smash and Grab’
