According to The Independent, Manchester United’s dynamic midfielder Paul Pogba could be back and ready for action before the end of the month.

The Frenchman has been out since injuring his hamstring against Basel in the opening round of the Champions League — quite unfair given Pogba’s great start to the season.

Mourinho gave reason to worry last week when he suggested that Pogba’s injury was “long term.” Thankfully, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

The United man was given a return timetable of 4-8 weeks. If the 24-year old could return for United’s League Cup match against Swansea Oct. 24 he would only have missed 6 weeks.

Pogba has been missed in midfield, but Marouane  Fellaini — to his credit — has done a marvelous job in his absence.

But with United lacking depth, especially in midfield, the faster Pogba returns to the side the better.

United need to win at Anfield this Saturday — no easy task — especially without one of the best players in the Premier League. But Pogba’s true first test would be Oct. 28 against Tottenham, should he be back and at full fitness.

The Spurs match will be huge in the long-run, as United have had a relatively easy fixture list to begin the season. But to keep pace with Manchester City, the Red Devils can seldom afford to drop any points.

Pogba, before his injury, brought an extra attacking threat. He was spraying balls across the pitch, and with Nemanja Matic in support, he was free to dictate matches.

Having a player with that capability back in the side will just make United more dangerous than they already are. The Frenchman has great on-pitch chemistry with Romelu Lukaku, something Fellaini just couldn’t recreate.

The reports that Pogba is just two away from returning is great news for United and football fans alike. He’s a dynamic, fun to watch player. He’s lived up to his transfer fee so far, and United need him back to continue our charge at the title.
