Marcus Rashford has become an integral part of the England squad over the last 12 months, a time when England fans really needed a pickup.

The 19-year old starlet scored the winning goal in Englands last World Cup qualifying game against Slovakia at Wembley in September.

England Games

England can secure qualification with a victory against Slovenia on Thursday night. This would leave Sunday’s game away in Lithuania obsolete as far as qualification goes.

A string of first-class performances means he’s likely to start in one of the wide positions. In-form Harry Kane is likely to start in the striker role.

According to the Daily Star  Mourinho wants Rashford to be rested should England secure qualification on Thursday.

As with most International breaks United players will return to a high profile game. In this case against bitter rivals Liverpool.

Mourinho and all United fans will not want any of their stars returning injured from International Duty.

Rashford has continued his impressive form this season with 6 goals so far. His impressive form is keeping a number of more experienced players out of the United side at the moment.

His pace and trickery will be vital for targeting what most see as a vulnerable Liverpool defence.

A fit and rested Rashford is vital to United continued hunt for the Premier League Trophy.

Deja Vu

Mourinho has tried to influence the England boss before.

The England U21 side travelled to Poland for the European championships in May without the United starlet. Instead was part of the senior squad for the qualification game against Scotland and friendly with France.

Mourinho insisted the player was simply too good for the competition.

It’s hard to argue the point, although some would say it would have been good tournament experience for the youngster.
