Manchester United’s Rashford: Martial has made me better
The Manchester United duo are adored by the Old Trafford crowd and Rashford has paid tribute to Martial when speaking to MUTV after the win over Basel.
Most Manchester United fans hope to see Rashford and Martial all in the same line-up one day but it appears, for now, that the two youngsters are going head-to-head for the same left wing position. However, there appears to be no malice between the two as Marcus explains to the club’s TV channel.

“It’s difficult when you’re in and out of the team, but we have to find the positives out of it and I think we have both done that. I think the competition is always positive competition because we’re improving each other every day when we’re in training, and in the games we’re pushing each other more and more.” said the academy graduate.
Rashford, rather maturely, continued, “It’s a bit of a headache for the manager, but it is a good headache to have.”. Mourinho clearly has a preference towards the Englishman, having praised him multiple times last season as well as handed him more minutes than any other youngster in Europe. Martial, however, is demanded to do more and more from his manager.
The consistent demands from Jose appear to have helped the Frenchman, who finally looks to be back to his first season form where he announced himself to the world. Old Trafford will be hoping to see plenty more of that Anthony, the one who scored his famous debut goal against Liverpool after a dazzling run.
For all his talent and potential, many still have a soft spot for Rashford rather than Martial, perhaps due to the Mancunian’s ties to the club. As exciting as the former Monaco man is, he still comes from distant lands and from a distant academy. Having said that, no one would love to see him succeed at the top level more than the Red Devils fan base.

There’s still questions being asked of Mourinho’s plans for the futures of the Manchester United duo and how he plans to squeeze the pair and Lukaku into the same side but should he manage to do so, there shouldn’t be a lack of goals from the Red Devils. Concerns for another day however, for now Jose needs to continue getting the best out of the two youngsters for United to stand a chance this season.
